The Harvey Guest House is a home retaining the ambiance of the 1950's. Designed to capture the harbour view over Cow Bay. Sheltered by indigenous trees in one of Prince Rupert's prime residential areas. The home provides:
The home was designed by the Vancouver architectural firm of Sharp, Thompson, Berwick, & Pratt and built in 1951 by Prince Rupert contractor Cole Mutch. The house takes advantage of a height of land overlooking the Cow Bay area of Prince Rupert harbour. This site served a location for anti-aircraft "Bofors" guns during WWII to protect the ship dry dock. The home was later redesigned by well known artist Ruth Harvey and displays many of her works. Our managers in residence are David Smook and Lucy Pribas.
The Harvey Guest house has a large living/dining area suitable for workshops and other social gatherings. Uses include family reunions, business meetings, music & theatre rehearsals, training sessions, bridge parties, dinners & receptions, painting & quilting workshops, and others.
